The actual summit can't be attained because of where the fence is. Take the service road all the way to the top. Be advised the entire mountain area is also a black bear habitat so keep your eyes open.

Mount Gibbes is overgrown and cannot be attained without a major bushwacking evolution. The spur trail is probably 3' to 5' high in some spots and doesn't look like anybody's been on top in a long time. I wasn't even going to attempt it in shorts.
