"Amazing trail! Great parking lot on guardsman pass, PCMR trail signage is amazing, the alpine lake views are great, and the summit views are better! One of my new favorite trails just because of how simple and nice and great it is. Peak 10420 is a very easy push, Clayton is a little harder with some boulder route finding at the top but also pretty easy. " — easton • Aug 29, 2024

"Late start: third parking lot. Needed to go off trail to get to the route. Terrible bugs. Eventually, made it to Bloods Lake and then started the climb of 1200 ft to Clayton Peak. The ridge was steep at points, flat at others, and very rocky, so we moved up and down it at a turtle's pace. Saw the Brighton Cirque Series Race from the top. Decided to go in a huge loop back to the parking lot, hitting Mount Venture (designated on the trail as Peak 10420), and then descending to the road. Then we continued on the hot and breezy trail peak bagging some more, before finding a cut through to the parking lot." — summit • Jun 29, 2024

"Great loop that took in all the peaks around Guardmans Pass. Ridge of Clayton Peak still a few small pockets of snow. Could hear the finish line announcer of the Cirque Series trailrace over at Brighton. View of upper snow on Timpanogos good recon for tmrw. Was fun to see the Hourglass Couloir off Jupiter Peak after skiing it a lifetime ago. In the summer it looks rowdier than I remember. " — scott • Jun 29, 2024

"This is my favorite peak, that I've summited, so far in Utah. An amazing view of the Utah backcountry and the back of Brighton, Alta, Snowbird, etc. Finished this peak in 2 hours. Instead of doing an out and back, we decided to follow the trail up and then attempt a rock scramble down to the lower alpine lake. Definitely, want to try again as a trail-run to see how quickly I can complete this as an out and back." — custerrcaitlyn • Jul 5, 2018
