I finally decided to climb this one after years of passing it along Lone Pine Canyon Road. Of course, I went on a cloudy, misty day, so views were nil except when a cloud breach came over the area! Getting there, you park at the turnout across the hwy from the gate and dirt road and head east-northeast along the road which dips and climbs and becomes a use trail/firebreak. It is a short, but steep climb. The higher portions of the trail have poodle-dog bush since there was a fire in recent years so beware. The summit has a register in a can located in a pile of rocks under a triangle sign. I came back the same way. All in all, a fun short hike helping me to unwind after a crappy day at work!
