"I climbed Cherni Vrah on a new route for me through the Bystrishko Branishte Reserve. This remarkable area, part of the Vitosha Nature Park, is known for its pristine beauty and ecological significance. Established in 1934 and later designated as a UNESCO biosphere reserve, it features dense forests, subalpine grasslands, and unique stone runs. Exploring the marked paths through this reserve, I got to experience some of its incredible biodiversity, with trees over 140 years old and wildlife ranging from deer to bears. The new route added a fresh layer of excitement and awe to the climb, making it a truly memorable adventure!" — borisv • Mar 4, 2025
"Morning Ascent of Cherni Vrah
We aimed to reach the summit by sunrise, but unfortunately, we didn’t make it in time. The sunrise was hidden by the slope of Malak Rezen peak.
Cherni Vrah, standing at 2,290 meters, is the highest peak in the Vitosha Mountains and offers stunning panoramic views. It’s a popular destination for hikers and nature enthusiasts. Malak Rezen, at 2,191 meters, is another notable peak in the Vitosha range, known for its scenic trails and proximity to the upper station of the Romanski chair lift." — borisv • Sep 28, 2024
"Start from Dragalevci with my friend Victor. Climb until Bai Krustio place and after that until Aleko hut (red marking). After that we start the last phase of our trip: climbing Cherni Vrah through The Wall (northern from peak Maluk Rezen)" — viktor-krumov • Jan 13, 2015
