"Was about to lead a hiking group but ended up being a solo-adventure due to all participants jumping off because of an active yellow weather warning this weekend. Parked at the beautiful Baravore Carpark and started my hike at 9.00AM in the morning wading through the cold water of the flooded road (Pro tip:there is a footbridge 20 yards up the trail... no need tondo this lol). After roughly 2 hours passing a gorgeous waterfall and going through a beautiful untouched landscape I arrived on the summit where I met 4 other hikers all slurping a tea and trying to warm up. It was at this point when I realised maybe it was for the better I was by myself as it was freezing and hardly enjoyable duebto the cold/wet temps. I surely thought twice whether to check the map or not to keep my hands warm. :D
On the way back I finished in a loop which forced me to wade through the river this time but was all in all an amazing day considering the winter conditions. Had a soup with a pint at the Glenmalure lodge which I highly recommend. Would definitely go for this loop again!" — BlueJeans • Nov 22, 2025
"Lead a group of 3 to the top of Tonelagee and upon finishing the trip at the cars felt like Ibwant to hike this years wild camp season with an im promptu hike from Wicklow Gap to Glendalough via a section of the St. Kevins Way, wild camped at Brockagh and walked back to the car by traversing Brockagh East, Brockagh amd Tonelagee again. Unfortunately both times I had no dice having a clear view to Lough Ouler. Still been a great Bank Holiday Adventure and made me join the Wicklow 25 challenge. :)" — BlueJeans • Oct 26, 2025
"For the first time in 9 years I came back to the Wicklow mountains
Did a few peaks but the hike was challenging but got it done in terrible conditions
Three words amplified with me through this hike
Never Give Up
Accompanied by my two great friends " — Tom/Guardian • Oct 25, 2025
