"26:18 to the top. 740m of ascent in total. walking.
Looks like they are going to replace the diseased Larch trees with Douglas fir saplings.
The Douglas fir is an evergreen conifer species in the pine family, Pinaceae. It is native to western North America and is also known as Douglas-fir, Douglas spruce, Oregon pine, and Columbian pine." — JohnJones • Apr 2, 2024
"Hard route in cold weather. 40kph winds over Cnicht. Climb over Moelwyn Mawr North Ridge had a serious side wind from the west causing unstable walking. Must have been 50kph+ gusts at times. Brilliant technical route along Craigysgafn and a a lovely steep scramble down the other side. Shame there wasn't enough time or energy to tick off Moelwyn Bach. Finished just before dark." — adventure-stricken • Feb 12, 2024
"A straight up and down by the ODP to the summit tower from Bwlch Penbarras in very dreich weather - rain; hill- and valley fog, with a cold damp north-westerly.

"By standard route from Bwlch Penbarras. Main trails heaving with Mersey-siders - as busy as a bank holiday, despite the dreich weather. Hill-fog above 400m; grey and cloudy; mizzle; light SW wind.

"From Cilcain WTC, via the nameless cwm to the summit. Down via Pt. 474m and Ffrith Mountain. Quiet en route, but summit busy. Weak sun; cloud moving in as I reached the top; then rain showers. Ravens; buzzard." — marktrengove2 • Dec 29, 2023
