"I can see why this is an iconic Utah peak. This is the platonic ideal of the perfect summit hike - great distance, pretty even grade, some fun easy scrambling towards the top, amazing views, and lots of mountain goats, including babies! A perfect day on the mountain - started at about 6:30am and done at lunchtime. " — andrewmadsen • Jul 9, 2021
"I started the hike at 0840 and made it to the switchbacks leading to the summit along trail 54 at 1040. I reached the saddle at 1116 and the summit at 1139. The route surprised me as it was a very steady climb most of the way with very few steeps parts (final climb excluded). My total time was a 5h 51m and the hike totaled 17 miles. "Mount Nebo was a very steep, challenging hike. The hike was incredibly windy and the loose shale rock made the hike far more treacherous than I expected. The hardest part begins after the saddle between North Peak and Mount Nebo with the spine between Mt. Nebo's sub-peak and summit the greatest obstacle for those afraid of steep drop-offs and narrow trails comprised of loose rocks that fall after each step. The scramble to the summit was a class III that could easily be considered a class IV at varying parts. Very rewarding to have finished it, but probably would not try it again on a windy day. I bagged North Peak on the way back for an extra 1 mile added to the hike.
I started the hike at 0952, reached the saddle between North and Nebo at 1131 and summitted Mt. Nebo at 1237. I made it back to my car by 1516 for a total of 13 miles. " — mchikes • Oct 22, 2020
"My second summit. You can see all of utah from the top of Nebo. It was truly amazing. Trail is very poor unfortunately, with lots of ups and downs, and some badly thought out switchbacks. I plan to return later and repair the trail with some friends" — MillsapLandon • Aug 1, 2020
"Started at 1:30 P.M. or so with my bro, we were back down by 7:00 or 8:00. On the way down just past the saddle, we were stopped for 15 minutes or so by 20-30 mountain goats on the trail. So cool!" — partyhiker • Jul 18, 2020
