"Webbing intact to gain access to the summit block. Some minor exposed 4th class moves that will grab your attention but nothing dangerous. The summit register is in good condition and Lisa left one of her painted rocks inside. " — MikeERodriguez • Feb 21, 2026
"First hike of 2026 on a cloudy, chilly day in Valley of fire with good friends and good views from the summit. Convoluted route. We made a few wrong turns but it just added to the adventure. " — maggielynn • Jan 3, 2026
"Went out early to beat the heat & crowds. I parked at the Silica Dome trailhead & took the quick hike up there first. It has great views! I then hiked down the valley toward Baseline Mesa & explored some of the beautiful nearby areas. Went up a slope on the north side of Baseline Mesa. At the top, I had to hike about a 1/4 mile to the summit. The views were spectacular! I descended a different route on the north side through red sandstone. It was quite pretty & fun. I then looped back to Silica Dome. I saw two tortoises on the hike. The entire area is covered in flowers right now & there was a cool breeze making the day really wonderful. I forgot to turn on my GPS until halfway through, but the hike was about 6 miles with 1500 feet of gain." — StudioHoodoo • Apr 22, 2023
"Got the actual summit this time . When you get near the top, instead of going through this tight crack, pop around to the right and you’ll see a notch you can pop up on to get to the summit. A good one for sure . " — joshortman • Mar 5, 2023
"I’m pretty sure I got on the right summit . There was no rock stack or register that I could find, although the bob burd registers that are on the other peaks around here are quite small and can easily be missed. I was also a hair off the coordinates o had punched in on Google, but that would have put me in mid air which is not good . To reach the summit, I gained the slot then walked out on that ledge pictured and back up the face . Not as bad as it looks . " — joshortman • Jan 7, 2023
