The ultimate peak challenge of the Lake Tahoe region of California and Nevada. Builds on the Tahoe 20 with 43 additional Sierra Nevada peaks in a much larger area extending north and south of the lake. "Ogul" is the Washoe Indian word for mountain bighorn sheep which at one time agilely climbed these mountains. Created by Harry Erl, Howard Steidtmann, and other members of the former Peak and Gorge Section of the Western States Climbers. See more at http://climber.org/wsc/OGULlist.html

"After several days of house hunting in Reno my wife and I drove to Tahoe City to meet up with her family for a week on the lake. Today we were able to break away from family obligations to do a hike. Tallac is one my wife’s favs so it was an easy choice.
It was a slow methodical ascent with many many rest breaks as she is out of shape( too much time at a desk). Always an enjoyable scenic climb and luckily the temps were back down to upper 50’s to start rising to near 80 later in the day. We were getting passed all day which was a bit humbling, still a great day." — Nimblefoot • Jul 17, 2024

"Finally after all these years: Sierra Crest Traverse. Started 8:30am at Donner Pass. Hit Donner Peak and scrambled to its true summit, such a cool peak. Then up onto the ridge of Mount Judah to skirt a snow bench and onto the summit. Had to detour to a narrow section of a huge snow bench to get up onto the ridge of the PCT headed toward Mount Anderson. Ducked into Benson Hut for lunch and then tried to head up the slopes of Mt. Anderson. Despite my crampons holding well, my brother’s microspikes weren’t up to the conditions so we headed around Anderson through some snowy stretches. Anderson tempted me, so went offtrail through meadow and then talus up its mellow southern slopes along ridgeline. Next up was Tinker Peak, highest peak of the day with a fun little scramble to a supreme vantage point. We started dragging a bit after the long descent from Tinker and really dragging on the 1.4 mile gradual climb to the Granite Peak Trail junction. Minimal snow on that trail, but it was a long 3.4 mile descent down to the Palisades parking lots. A classic day out. " — scott • Jun 22, 2024

"Perfect day venturing out into the heart of the Desolation Wilderness. Remaining snow led to some routefinding challenges getting up the final ridge to Dicks Peak. View from Dicks of so many alpine lakes is stunning, another great Tahoe 12. Tagged on a short spur to Maggies Peak at the end. " — scott • Jun 20, 2024

"Did Lola and the north ridge as a clockwise loop from the main northern trailhead. The maintained trail up Lola is pretty straightforward, with some snow patches still hanging out along the trail. Lola summit was quite windy, but there's a windbreak at the summit to hide behind for shelter. The traverse along the ridge to North Lola is pretty easy, with mostly open country and gentle grades. Views at the summits and along the ridge are stunning, and some waterfalls lie along the main trail.
The bushwhack from North Lola back down to the trail is...interesting. AllTrails and Natural Atlas show a logging road that leads from east of North Lola back down to the trail, but this road is in such bad shape that you're better off just bushwhacking down the slope. It appears that serious effort has been taken to make the road hard to use by any mode of transportation, with countless fallen trees perpendicular to the road and large piles of rocks. Water crossings along the main trail were a tad high, but were doable. " — coasterlover1994 • Sep 9, 2023
