"I've done this before but never in the winter. I love these peaks along the I-90 corridor since they are so accessible for those of us that live in Seattle. This is one of the better winter hikes I've done if you're looking for something closer to a traditional hike (no snowshoes or thick snow w/postholing) granted we have had minimal snow this year. Snow on trail at 3800 ft+ but didn't even take my spikes out. Fresh dusting of snow on the trees surrounding Change Peak was beautiful." — E • Feb 10, 2026
"Complete cloud cover at the top, but had I waited 30 minutes I'd likely would have had some beautiful views. The scramble was fun. Nice and efficient uphill on this one, would put it in the same I-90 shuffle category as PPP. Will check it out again." — zachmitch • Jul 12, 2025
"Solo hike up the Banderas. Soggy and foggy throughout. Little B is very easy, fitting amongst your average i-90 peak. Big B is kind of an annoying one, rocky, will improve your route finding ability. I saw > 100 people between parking lot and Little B. I saw 0 people between Little B and Big B. Great day in the hills." — zachmitch • Jun 14, 2025
"Great day in the mountains with GM, his first hike/peak in Washington. As an avid runner, I knew he'd be able to handle the effort, but he was open that heights would be a factor (he's from Indiana/Michigan). I was proud that he overcame his fear and scrambled all the way to the top section with me. Unfortunately a series of fires left the view a bit wanting, but it was still an overall nice day -- and we had the top to ourselves the entire time. Quickly down, followed by some teriyaki make for some nice memories. Thankful." — zachmitch • Aug 10, 2024
"Some sections past the Ira Springs connector were pretty overgrown. Also, getting to Dirtybox from DHP would have involved climbing down about 15 ft or so on a rope, so I decided not to. I'll try Dirtybox from the Mailbox side instead." — mathiasricken • Jul 21, 2024
