Travel through the incredible alpine terrain of southern Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. This advanced peak challenge is based on the NPS's official map and includes all peaks lying south of US Highway 34 that are shown on the map. Includes the iconic 14er Longs Peak and many popular scrambles in the central region of the park. The majority of peaks in this challenge are off-trail over rough terrain and see far fewer visits than the ever-popular Longs. Despite being only a 90 min drive from Denver, you're likely to have many of these summits to yourself. A companion challenge to the Rocky Mountain National Park North Peak Challenge. Based on this official NPS map: https://www.nps.gov/romo/planyourvisit/upload/ROMO-Park-Map-2013-8x10-reduced.pdf
