Leave the viewless summits behind! The well-known "52 WAV" challenge includes 52 New Hampshire peaks under 4,000 ft high with views from the top. Includes many classic, popular New Hampshire peaks. A great challenge to tackle after completing the 4000 footers. Created by NH hiking group http://overthehillhikers.blogspot.com

Note: on peakery this challenge is 54 peaks since both Welch & Dickey and North and South Doublehead are counted separately. Also note that in 2020 5 peaks were demoted and 5 new ones added. The demoted mountains were: Square Ledge, West Royce, Iron, Wonalancet Hedgehog, and Black Mountain South Peak. The added ones are Morgan, Percival, Pine, Rogers Ledge, and Table.

Highlights
"We wanted a short hike with views to do before any rain came in and was close to our motel in Twin Mountain. Nice climb to Martha with some decent views then onto Martha’s mile(@0.8 miles) to reach the tiny bump of Owlshead. Even better views so it was worth the easy stroll back and forth. Little spikes all day with only a few icy spots on the last pitch to Owlshead. First time for Ed and John, upon returning to the car they approved the choice of peaks." — Nimblefoot • Mar 2, 2024
"Decent snow pack now on the mountain. Used snowshoes up Winslow and down Barlow. Lower half of Barlow was trashed by Postholio, so shoes made it so much easier. A lot less wind that expected on a nice sunny summit." — Alohabuffy • Jan 15, 2024

"Went up Manning trail and 900 ft elevation climb in, I lost the trail. It was quite a scary adventure getting back on track! Got to firescrew and easy shot to Mount Cardigan from there. Beautiful view from the top. Went done Clark trail to Holt. Was not steep at all and was able to jog most of the way down which was nice." — HikingMomMC • Oct 19, 2023
