"Ideal hike with AK. Elevation and class 2 make this a fun one. Very rocky throughout, not much walking that isn't @ significant incline, and great views (even a peek at Rainier). Similar to Kamikaze but much less rooty. Def got the cardio going. It's still a little hazy here from the Bolt Creek fire, but we must take advantage of the nice weather while we have it. Alpental had maybe 20 cars when we arrived, absolutely packed when we left - people going to the overflow lot" — zachmitch • Oct 8, 2022
"7th attempt today and finally got it via the Beckey chimney route. Both chimneys converge at the base. Took the left chimney. Class 3 scramble with some difficulties. The right chimney looks easier but has roofs that are rough to pass-- class 5 with exposure. The left chimney splits at the very top. To the left is a steep climb and to the right is a mossy ramp. I've always gone to the right. The left chimney empties onto the upper saddle. Access to the lower saddle is needed. A twenty foot rappel or non-obvious downclimb will work. Once on the lower saddle an obvious gully leads almost to the summit. A rope isn't needed after the saddle. At the top of the obvious gully there is a small knob that needs to be climbed or traversed beneath. After that it just a quick walk to the summit. Left truck at 5:15 AM. On summit at 9:30 AM. Spent 30 minutes on top and started down. 70M rope. 5ish raps down left chimney. Back to truck at 3 PM. 3.5K gain." — cloudbreach • Aug 1, 2021
"PCT to Bumblebee Pass. Bumblebee Pass is steep dirt. Descended into talus basin. Clear trail until the talus started. I lost the established trail in the talus and schlepped straight up. Trail became evident again in dirt notch; took the notch to the ridge. Went around backside and began ascent. Clear trail. A few areas of class 3 with some exposure. Came to the class 4 area and it went fine. Solid rock. Easy walk to summit. This mountain has phenomenal views 360 degrees. I felt fine downclimbing without rope even with a heavy pack and in trail runners. Took the PCT back. 20 miles. 11 hours with a 30 minuteish lunch on the summit." — cloudbreach • Sep 5, 2020
"Sunday morning, I hiked up to Silver Peak. This trail is in reasonably good shape for a boot path but there are a couple of points where the true trail is not obvious. GPS (I use Gaia) and trekking poles help a bunch. The 360 view from the summit is magnificent.
Bugs were not a nuisance.

"Decided to attempt another Home Court 100. Too hot of a day for this trip and too much sun exposure late afternoon. Turned out to be a more difficult uphill hike and scramble that I was expecting - the heat did not help. However the views were spectacular today and we had a mountain goat pass within two feet of us when we took a break at the side of the "trail", and he decided to go down our path." — markhadland • Jul 19, 2020
