"I had been in Melbourne for a friend's birthday celebrations. On Sunday morning I headed to Warburton and up to the Mount Donna Buang car park. I set up the radio gear at the summit (VK3/VC-002) and made 11 contacts before I packed up and descended to the car. Head north to Narbethong and then drove to Wodonga." — peterfreeman • Sep 22, 2019
"The first day of daylight savings time. I drove to Mount Donna Buang and parked in the top car park. I walked over to the trig before setting up the radio gear at a picnic table to activate VK3/VC-002, making only 4 contacts - enough to qualify the summit, but to not spoil things for another amateur who arrived as I was making the contacts. I packed up and after chatting briefly with Ron VK3AFW, I headed back down to the Acheron Way and around to Road Eight to park.
I climbed up to the summit of Mount Ritchie and set up to activate VK3/VC-003. I made 12 contacts before packing up and returning to the car.
I then drove to the high point beside Mount Strickland. I set up to activate VK3/VN-030, making 15 contacts. I packed up and headed for home." — peterfreeman • Oct 7, 2018

"Sunday weather forecast was good and it was the last non-work day to activate SOTA summits and be eligible for the seasonal bonus. I drove to Warburton and up to Mount Donna Buang car park and walked to the summit. I set up the radio gear at a picnic table nearby. I made 10 contacts, finishing just after another activator arrived at the summit. I exchanged greetings and packed up. I then drove around Acheron Way to the start of Road 15 and parked near the very substantial locked gate. I walked up Radio 15 and then Road 10 to the summit of Mount Ritchie at set up. Radio conditions were poor and I had no mobile phone connection. I made 4 contacts only, qualifying the summit. I packed up and followed my access route back to the car and then headed home." — peterfreeman • Oct 14, 2016
"A tourist lookout/restaurant on Mt Dandenong, overlooking Melbourne. Note it was $6 to park in the car park, I parked down the road and walked up... Went for amateur radio Summits On the Air activtity." — VK1DI • Feb 7, 2016
