"Broke trail through about a foot of snow up Owl's Head today. Nice hike. Drove up to the upper trailhead and after a half mile road walk, I hiked up past the quarry (which was interesting) and along the ridge to Owl's Head. The trail up hooked around the back to the wooded summit. I did not do the loop and couldn't find Gilbert Lookout for some reason, but Owl's Head was a cool little knob that is worth hiking to, even though there are no views from the top." — elimihuta • Jan 20, 2025

"Broke trail up Baker Peak today. Nice, steady, easy ascent the whole way. 4 inches at the trailhead, and about a foot at the top. Views were lackluster on this cloudy day, with the best being an up close view of Dorset Peak and into the Valley of Vermont. I got 6.6 miles and 2100 feet of elevation. Brook crossings were challenging, and the trail was tough to find due to infrequent blazing. Would've had to turn back without Alltrails." — elimihuta • Jan 4, 2025

"There is parking on the right hand side of the road right before the water tower. We missed it and ended up going up the rough part of the road and parking at the kiosk. I would recomend parking at the water tower it's not that much farther but the road up to the kiosk is very rough. The hike is very steep with no level places. "Trailrun up the wet grassy ski trails and then over to the firetower. Perfect crystal clear viz from the top. Forgot how tall this tower feels, a 4000 footer with the tower? Ran down the Long Trail toward Stratton Pond but veered right onto a grassy snowmobile superhighway, then Catamount Trail (I think?). "Trailrun up the Long Trail. Slippery rocks & mud the whole way. Amazing to think it's been 30 years since I was last on this trail during a thru-hike with friends.
