"Jessie & I. Fourth peak of the day! Stone fire tower thing. Helped a thru hiker find their phone in the boulders yay! Time to descend. Started around 5am and hit 4 peaks all before 11am with food breaks (yum). Poured as soon as we started our descent down fire wardens trail on the east side." — meilijohnson • Sep 6, 2025
"Short morning hike up Saddleback Mountain + The Horn. Gorgeous views and day throughout the hike, the climb to the Horn was easy and gorgeous, reminded me a little of Jay Mt. Hike up was via ski trail, steep in some places, but short. Was going to do Jr as well but i checked my pack and just didnt feel comfortable with my low water supply to do it on such a hot dry day. On the Horn, chatted up a skier from NH, two highly accomplished hiking couple from Duanesburg, and on the way back a beautiful dog named Willow. I saw no moose on this hike, but i did spot an attractive grill (a Weber i believe the way it stood proud). " — dennis-van-amburgh • Aug 16, 2025

"Abol trail on the second to last day of Baxter being open. It was clear and mostly above freezing luckily unlike the day before. There was about an inch of snow on the tablelands but none on the ascent of abol. Was very nice to remember about the mountain" — noahthackeray • Oct 13, 2024
"Took the Abol trail to Baxter peak avec Thack and Ethan. Temps were cold & windy on the ascent & the descent was sunny and warm. Trails were moderately busy on the descent. The fall foliage was unreal. Took 7 heures, I think." — meilijohnson • Oct 13, 2024
