"Ascent with Coco on the normal route from the East on relatively new concrete steps from the toilet block on Harlech road half way round the Peak circuit. Weather sunny and warm about 25 Celcius. Very steep steps but easy, only taking 15 minutes to summit and return. Vertical ascent is about 100m, horizontal distance about 500 m so thats a 20% rise roughly. Coco romped it and I wasn't far behind. Nice to do as this is the first peak since January" — billsmith • Apr 11, 2022
"Coastal village path + HK trail section 8 (Dragon’s Back)
Start; Lin Hok Sin Koon bus stop - take #9 bus from Shau Kei Wan MTR
Finish; Big Wave Bay - take red minibus to Shau Kei Wan MTR http://www.16seats.net/eng/rmb/r_h09.html Fare 10 HK$ * Cash only *
From the bus stop walk back up the road a bit towards the opposite direction bus stop to find a proper stepped zig-zag path down *ignore the steep straight concrete steps alongside a drainage channel*
At the bottom an interesting coastal village path** wends it’s way south via five tiny sleepy old villages facing across Tai Tam Harbour to Stanley. The first, Lan Nai Wan, has a small temple (Lin Hok Sin Koon). The fourth village, Ngan Hang, has a small beach with WWII concrete machine gun positions. To Tei Wan has a nice beach and is busier owing to its location on the Hong Kong trail. All the villages bar To Tei Wan contained unleashed barky Chinese village dogs in the habit of loping over to within a few feet to check you out. In Ngan Hang a gaggle of 7 came over to ‘say hello’; I wanted to get a picture of them but didn’t have my camera to hand. **Don’t venture on the coastal village path if dogs alarm you

"Tai Tam reservoir to Stanley - The Twins via minor peaks to the east.
Start point - Tai Tam Country Park bus stop (I caught a #14 bus from near Sai Wan Ho MTR)
Finish - Stanley (beaches/market/#14 bus to Sai Wan Ho or others to Central).
Not far from the bus stop go up concrete steps directly behind the “Tai Tam Country Park” sign board. These steps soon level off; turn off left when you see a steep, vegetated jungly minor trail marked by ribbons all the way to the Wilson Trail at The Twins.
Bridge Hill - maps depict the ‘summit’ at a junction of paths decorated with an abundance of ribbons. The actual high point is north of this, off on a short spur track, at the location of the ‘historic boundary stone’ depicted on some maps. See photos. No views due vegetation.
Kwai Shan - maps show no trail to this summit but nevertheless a jungly ribboned route did exist. The summit is indistinct and once again the actual high point location is somewhere north of the depicted location. No views due vegetation.
Lo Fu Shan - Another indistinct summit with no views due vegetation.
Cheung Lin Shan - Limited views

"Paved paths to the top. To make it more challenging, I started from the harbor and made it a 5 mile trek. Easy walking but very humid. Wish I brought an extra shirt to switch at the top because I was drenched in sweat." — wesgrubbs • Dec 2, 2016
"It was a long hot hike up the steep hills of this nice Island in Hog Kong. The views along the way were very beautiful. We were accompanied by hundreds of dragonflies along the way." — GarlicDude • Aug 13, 2011
