"I did Rysy in one push with Koprovsky Stit. Started very early on the first sunny day after a big dump of snow. Was surprised at the amount of snow - I was struggling through some sections in the waist-deep snow(!). Didn't expect such conditions in Slovakian mountains in September. Luckily for me, the trail was broken between the mountain refuge "Hata pod Rysami" and the summit. I didn't bring microspikes nor ice-axe and felt like I wouldn't mind having them for the final push to the summit. The deep snow made this hike more adventurous than it's normally is. "Decided to turn around just above the peak, at an indicated GPS altitude of 2483m. The lack of climbing experience, steep path, wet rocks and overcrowding meant pushing the summit under unwanted pressure. It was an incredible adventure though :)" — thyDusk666 • Jun 17, 2018

"Due to very poor visibility, large amount of fresh snow and a dangerous-looking traverse, we had to turn back just below the summit. Anyway it was a fun winter climb in a beautiful terrain, my first real winter climb :) " — zoltanban • Feb 4, 2018

"An ascent of the mountain from the Slovak side. Although the route is a marked trail, I decided to engage the services of Grzegorz Kubicki, Tatra guide and a member of the Polish mountain rescue, whose chata we were renting. I had never engaged a guide before - and Grzegorz was quite excellent. He has a deep knowledge of the Tatra, is engaging company, and shares his love of these mountains in excellent English. I thoroughly recommend him - see his Facebook page at https://en-gb.facebook.com/Grzegorz-Kubicki-Przewodnik-Tatrza%C5%84ski-1591458191071747/.
We took the long drive round from Zakopane to Štrbské pleso and began hiking at about 06:30 a.m. We headed off on the fine red trail around the south-east flank of the Satan ridge, stopping at the hut by Popradské pleso for brief refreshments. We then headed NNW on the blue trail up Mengusoveská dolina, diverting onto the red trail which zig-zagged up to the shores of Vel'ké-Žabie pleso, with a fine view west of the Satan ridge across the valley. From there the red trail climbs over a rock outcrop in the head-wall of the cwm, assisted by chains and ladders, to emerge in the Dolinka pod Váhou upper cwm where the Chata pod ..." — marktrengove • Aug 10, 2017

"Start at Sliezky dom 1600 m st 8.00, by 11.30 we reached the summit. We returned by Granatova Lavka to Sliezky Dom, finished at 15.30, windy, clowdy, later in the day clear sky.." — niklasbennwik • Jun 13, 2017
