"So... originating from a conversation on twitter, I ended up ascending the Zugspitze a second time, three days after my first summit. This time I took the cable car down, however. Enough is enough :)" — TheTMan • Jul 23, 2020

"Combining arguably the two most scenic routes to the Zugspitze to one gigantic day trip has been a longstanding dream of mine. With perfect weather conditions, and on a weekday (highly recommended) a friend and I finally made it happen. Started at around 5:45am in Hammersbach, went through the Höllentalklamm gorge, two ferratas, and across the Höllentalferner glacier to the summit, where we arrived at around 1pm. Went back to Garmisch through the Reintal valley, which is both beautiful and near-endless. Total trip took around 16h and was about 41km and 3000m elev. gain." — TheTMan • Jul 20, 2020

"#12 of the "Sixteen Summits" of the German states. The summit lies in a beautiful moist forest that was tinted in autumn colors. The biggest challenge was getting there and finding the way to the top from Woldegk." — Adrian • Oct 31, 2017

"Finally hiked up the highest mountain of my home state Lower Saxony. Not a nice peak: it used to be a nature protection area, but that was abolished in favour of tourism. Now there are several cable cars going up to the top, snow cannons all around and a big artificial lake near the summit of the mountain. While walking the paths through the forest you get a little paranoid because of all the downhill bikers appear out of nowhere rushing toward the valley with full speed. Wouldn't recommend this except you're interested in conflicts between nature and tourism, hikers and bikers or want to have a good view towards the nearby Brocken." — Adrian • May 3, 2014
