"A short walk from the east. The access is between two houses. There is a private property sign and no sign indicating the footpath so perhaps others have been detered from taking this route. The path went up above the cottage on the right and I met the owner who'd been installing a solid-looking fence there. He was nice and friendly. Up here through the trees until the open area and then a wander about the top, to the copse of trees and a slightly higher point. Returned same route but the man had gone indoors." — vygodski • Dec 21, 2025
"After crossing as a foot passenger from Lymington to Yarmouth, cycled to the west of this hill, then walked it up long gravel track that rises slowly to a crossroads, where I headed more north through the trees, finally cutting in to the wood where the trig point was concealed down a short path. From here headed west and went up Harborough Barrow before cycling back to Yarmouth." — vygodski • Dec 20, 2025
"Parked on road just by Buck's Head, walked a little up the lane and then onto track. This led through some beech forest and given it was such a windy day it was fascinating and slightly scary to see them swaying and groaning. Underfoot it was some sort of sandy mud, not quite sandstone as one could mark it with one's foot. On top there is a flat area that was very pleasant in the mist although we did not get much in the way of views. Mostly the rain held off but there was much flooding on route to the area which meant a lot of sitting in traffic." — vygodski • Dec 19, 2025
"With Susan, caring for my injured back and leg!
NB our track shows us driving away having completed the ascent snd descended back to the car where we forgot to turn off recording. " — johnandsue4fun • Nov 23, 2025
"Started from Ambleside and followed the ridgeline path to the top, made my way back via the steep route to Kirkstone Pass Inn, not ideal with the snow and ice, back along the Struggle running some of the way" — R-Herb • Nov 23, 2025
