"BS Col wasn't in great shape, took the glacier up. Had a fantastic time on this route, chose to err on the side of caution and rope up for most of it - downclimbing took a good chunk of time this way. Found the crux to be downclimbing summit 2." — carreradawn • Aug 29, 2022
"Wanted to ski in July. Climb and ski off Pigeon last year was great. This year more snow. Attempted it in one day. Wind and cold on Pigeon made for only first summit. Great ski all the way past the hut. Still Spring up there!" — alexjoseph • Jul 11, 2020
"4th annual CSMC Bugaboos trip. This time I brought the backcountry skis. The plan was to do Anniversary Peak but glacier melt meant this would require a significant downclimb to the Bugaboo Cr. So it was up Pigeon Spire W Ridge with some new folks and then a rapid descent before getting hit with a hurricane about a pitch and half from the col. 120+km winds, rain and hail, and complete fog out with lightning. 30 min later the sun was back out temporarily and we put the skis on and descended off the south side for a 750m perfect corn snow line back to the hut. First time skiing in July!!!" — alexjoseph • Jul 13, 2019
"4th annual CSMC Bugaboos trip. Erich and I took a shot at Bugaboo NE Ridge after a 1am arrival at the Kain Hut and an hour sleep we headed out at 4:30am but had at least 5 parties ahead of us. Was at the base of the first pitch before 8am and the sun started to come out as a group of 5 from California headed up the first pitch. 15min later we were enshrouded in cloud and fog and it poured rain leading to the leader taking 3 lead falls and bailing. After another 2 hours of watching them recovery their gear and then 2 of the 5 begin another ascent, we looked south and north to stormy clouds and decided we didn't want to spend the day in the rain on the ridge. But since we were there, we figured we should climb the first crux pitch. It was good fingers crack climbing with the crux being small foot smearing and edging about 3/4 the way up. It went down clean but was a little more a mental battle than I would have liked. We rappelled off a few cords and then headed down and over Crescent Spire to be back at the hut by 3:30pm." — alexjoseph • Jul 12, 2019
"Day 1 of the 3rd annual CSMC Bugaboos camp. I brought my oldest daughter Tigris in for the first time. Her, Billy and I did the Pigeon circuit up B-S col up the spire and down in 3.5 hrs and then around the south side and home. Great day and nice to move with speed up and down the spire with no one else around." — alexjoseph • Jul 13, 2018
