"With Charlie. First time up Mt Anthony. Found a well-maintained trail that faded into an easy-to-follow path with a few steep sections. Viewless joyless summit with cell tower + shack detritus but found a nice viewpoint down on Zorba’s(Zelda’s? Zorros?) trail loop. Parked at gym and walked up past the mansion to the kiosk. My track will bring you on a good route with zero bushwhacking." — scott • Jun 21, 2023
"High 30's, foggy and light rain. Parked across the street from trailhead, big parking lot. Steep steps to start for the first half mile but flat/gradual for the mile afterwards to the summit. Small patches of ice, no spikes needed. Fog at the summit so no views unfortunately. Sign at the summit had a log with stories from hikers. Out and back was 3.5 miles in 1:45 hours, 1135 elevation gain." — gregoryskiba • Jan 2, 2022
"High 30's, foggy and light rain. Parked at the ski lodge at the base of the mountain, a few workers were there. On told me to head left first, as there was still snow on the right side of the mountain, which was the direction I was planning to go anyways. I went up the icy access road (crampons needed), good and constant incline all the way to the summit, where there was a signal tower. A worker on CC skis arrived a few minutes after me and we chatted for a few minutes. He has been working at Prospect for over 40 years. Not much of a view as it was still foggy, so continue through the summit down the right side of the mountain, which wasn't a road but a grassy/wet trail, for one big loop. 1.65 miles in 45 mins, 633 ft elevation gain. "Starting at unmarked parking area on FS71. Trail follows old woods roads, snowmobile/horse trails. Mostly unmarked, but easy to follow. There are 3 water crossings, one 50ft from your car the another less than 1/4 mile in. Both were boots off for me in late October. May be better in dryer months. Third crossing is about 1 mile in. Was able to rock hop this one. Map shows intersection with long trail when you reach the ridge. The snowmobile doesn't intersect there, but runs parallel. Bushwack 100-200 feet and you'll find the LT" — Twodawgs • Oct 21, 2020
"Hiked Bald from Harbour Rd. in Woodford. Early morning clouds cleared & a bluebird day was in store. I used spikes as the lower section of the
trail was somewhat icy. However, the middle & upper portions were very snowy & I wished I had brought my snowshoes...oh well. The only views
to be had were at the junction with the West Ridge Trail. Nice view of Mt. Greylock from this semi-open spot. The actual summit of Bald is wooded
with no views to be had. Makes ya wonder why it's named Bald??" — billsussdorff • Dec 11, 2019
