"One of my favorite peaks so far! I love looking out over the water and seeing the mountains on the other side. The trail is pretty steep in some sections. Not many flat areas or ridge walking. " — chloe185 • May 5, 2020
"Headed up Sunday morning. Made good time through the low growth. No breeze made the first few miles humid. Low clouds hung around the peak. By the time we arrived you could not see past 60 feet.
Too bad, the views from there are truly worth the climb." — AlaskaHiker • Jul 30, 2017
"Wow, what an incredible start to a 14 hour trek. I've summited Baldy many times, but this was my first time up the trail for the summer. Leaving the trailhead at 06:00 I was up on top by 06:30, and had the peak to myself. I watched the sun-cast shadow of Mt. Baldy over my hometown for a few minutes before heading off to Black Tail Rocks. I'll put a full write up of the day's adventure at www.powderridgephotography.wordpress.com soon." — KG • Jul 19, 2015
"This was an incredible trip up Baldy, a peak I've summited countless times. What made this trip special is that it was the first time I spent the night on top - and in the winter. I went up with the intentions of snapping pics of a full moon that would rise on the even of the Spring Equinox. I was surprised to also be treated to a display of the northern lights that night. "Was working as a fisheries biologist in alaska for 6 months, so why not hike a mountain in my free time! Was very out of shape so I was not ready. Almost turned around on my way up, but would have never forgiven myself, so i pushed. Camped out on the side of the mountain overlooking Anchorage that night. One of the best hikes Ive ever made.
