"Planned to do a Precipice/Orange & Black Trail loop. Rain and snow squalls hit just as I reached the first set of rungs. Way to dangerous on those cliffs under those conditions for this old guy. Turned back and found a safe 'tourist' peak!" — goshen-bagger • Nov 11, 2025
"Picking off the 'Wicked Wild' trails. Ascent by way of the West Face Trail. Lived up to it's reputation. Steep and dangerous in those spots with leaves and needles still wet from the day befores rain. Changed my plans and descended by the Connor Brook trail. Wise choice.." — goshen-bagger • Oct 14, 2025
"Walked the No. Ridge Tr. to just past the Hawk Watch area, then around the summit loop, dodging all the tourists. Wanted to see where the steep West Side trail connected with the So. Ridge Tr. so I went up and over the true summit trying to find it. My leg was hurting from yesterday's bushwhacks so I abandoned that plan when I came to the road by the west facing pkg area and just followed it back to my car. However I had forgotten to look for the USGS summit marker, so I trudged up the short trail behind the store once more and found BOTH summit markers (one is a benchmark)." — SteveM_StickMan • Sep 2, 2025
"Set out to do The Beehive with NGK (my 9-year-old daughter). She crushed it! And she even wanted to add on West Peak. This is easily one of the best day hikes I've ever done. My only complaint about The Beehive is that it is very short and goes by fast! " — jameslkennedy • Aug 9, 2025
"Started with spikes, no spikes then switched to snowshoes. Off and on several times. Very warm - down to base layer for much of the hike. Snow was quite soft on the descent. Tiring to hike in soft snow. Hit Eagle’s Crag on the descent. " — NYMetz • Feb 26, 2025
