"Planned to do a Precipice/Orange & Black Trail loop. Rain and snow squalls hit just as I reached the first set of rungs. Way to dangerous on those cliffs under those conditions for this old guy. Turned back and found a safe 'tourist' peak!" — goshen-bagger • Nov 11, 2025
"Picking off the 'Wicked Wild' trails. Ascent by way of the West Face Trail. Lived up to it's reputation. Steep and dangerous in those spots with leaves and needles still wet from the day befores rain. Changed my plans and descended by the Connor Brook trail. Wise choice.." — goshen-bagger • Oct 14, 2025
"Walked the No. Ridge Tr. to just past the Hawk Watch area, then around the summit loop, dodging all the tourists. Wanted to see where the steep West Side trail connected with the So. Ridge Tr. so I went up and over the true summit trying to find it. My leg was hurting from yesterday's bushwhacks so I abandoned that plan when I came to the road by the west facing pkg area and just followed it back to my car. However I had forgotten to look for the USGS summit marker, so I trudged up the short trail behind the store once more and found BOTH summit markers (one is a benchmark)." — SteveM_StickMan • Sep 2, 2025
"Woke up early, loaded bikes onto a boat, and took the boat over to Seal Harbor. We rode our bikes through the town of Seal Harbor and to the Jordan Pond House, where our hike began. We dropped off the bikes, and made our way up to Pemetic Mountain. The climb was very steep at the beginning, but flattened out near the top. We had an amazing hikers lunch at the summit, with views of Jordan Pond and the ocean. We hiked on the rugged downhill back down another route. There were roots, loose rock, and even a section where you could choose to go down a ravine through ladders, or go around on a rocky ledge. After a long descent, we made it to the parking lot of the Bubbles. At the intersection of the routes to the South and North Bubbles, part of the group made their way back around Jordan Pond to complete the loop to Jordan Pond House, while me and the others rhiked (run-hiked) up to North Bubble, and then quickly ran back down to the intersection. From here, we made our way up to South Bubble. The summit did not have great views, but the ledge 25 feet below it had extraordinary views of Jordan Pond and the surrounding mountains. We circled back to the right of the lake, and traversed ov..." — summit • Aug 9, 2025
