"This was an interesting climb. I was amazed by how many people understimate the objective hazards of this mountain, including Russel Brice. This is not meant to be a commercial peak. The avalanche danger is too great between C1 and C2, added the combination of the crevasse field. There's no place to hide. This mass migration of commercial outfits is a disaster in the making..." — sherpagirl • Oct 1, 2010
"A few climbers gathered at camp 3 and decided to give the best shot at the summit. It was snowing and zero visibility, it took us 14 hours to summit and return to C3 again. It was the most difficult climb for me, since we got lost a few times in very technical mixed terrain, in the dark and bad weather. We met an avalanche close to the saddle, but our lives were spared by a great miracle. At the summit, each of us thanked God for the unbelievable feat, though we were from different religions (christian, budhist, muslim, shinto), there's was only one God in that moment. "A very brief moment on the mountain. From my arrival at BC to summit it only took 12 days! I think this is a beautiful mountain. I never forget its fantastic change in shades later in the evenings. I climbed this mountain alone most of the time. My Sherpa was a social butterfly and was always helping his buddies." — sherpagirl • Sep 24, 2009
"I suffered an acute appendicitis at 6100m in camp 1, I had to go down accompanied by my climbing partners, João Garcia and Andrew Locke, and walk across the entire Yalung glacier to Ramche, the next morning I was rescued by helicopter to the hospital in Kathmandu where I was operated on." — antoniocoelho • Apr 27, 2006
