"This was a wild adventure heading south of Bariloche on a whim. We discovered the Ruta 40 (Patagonia Highway) and headed south. It felt a little like heading north of Fairbanks in Alaska. The landscape expanse was incredible and it started to snow - how appropriate. When we eyed the mountain it looked like there was no road to the "ski hill" but sure enough there was a dirt road on Google and surprisingly it wound its way to a base of gravel parking lot and a few ATCO trailers for tickets, rentals, and food. I think there was 2 other cars in the parking lot. We had to load with skis off as there was no snow at the base of the mountain. And it was a chairlift ride up to a slice of heaven and some serious cold wind. After a gear up in a small wood shack we headed into the "backcountry" which was a wide open plain with the peak in the background. We skied a rolly track and saw people skinning and skiing couloirs on the peak. Met some Alaskans with young son. Eyed the peak but decided the incoming weather and snow was too much. Skied west and enjoyed some sub peaks and epic views. Wild place." — alexjoseph • Sep 4, 2019
