From the Fuente de los Clérigos, the closest place that a bus can access, this route begins. Most vehicles can go up the track for a few kilometers to the Sanctuary car park. The route passes through the most common route of ascension to the Moncayo. The first part is protected by an extensive pine forest, until 1840 meters, where we will be exposed to the weather, especially in the highlands where the presence of a strong wind is very frequent. The weather on this mountain is very treacherous and can change in a few hours. Although at the time not wintering the risk is practically non-existent, you have to have a lot of respect in winter, since the formation of ice on its steep slopes is common. For that reason, the use of crampons and pilolet is mandatory in case we can find snow.
