"Today we climbed The 1st and 2nd highest peak in Costa Rica. We were super lucky with the weather! It was raining all afternoon and evening but when we woke up at 3am, rain stopped. On the way to the high peak Chirripo, lightning were happening all around us but not close to us haha what a luck.
Beautiful sunrise and views at 3800m. On the way back we decided to go for the 2nd highest which was shorter but steeper with no one on top.
Great day with Olivier Vasquez Rojas" — nandorszotak • May 24, 2022
"I went alone and it was already rainy season. So on the last part on my way up I was soaked and on the next day I slided down the last meters and looked like a pig. But I was so proud of myself ;o)))" — jennyzaremba • Jun 19, 2011

"Objective Cerro Chirripo 3842m
Started hiking from the San Gerardo de Rivas to Base Crestones 14.5km 2200m elevation gain.
Hiking through the most amazing rainforest, to dry alpine ecosystem from hot to cold temperatures. Staying in the hut is quite cool at night don't underestimate the temperatures it is cold up high. Woke up at dawn and hiked our way up to the Summit 3842m awesome views and on a clear day you can see the pacific ocean on one side and the Caribbean Sea on the other. Hiked the long 19km trail out to some close by hotsprings that was the best ending to a fantastic backpacking trip.
