Trail head: Sandy Point just off Bursum Road. Bursum Road is signed as a high clearance road. Trail: #182 Crest Trail. Miles 4 to 6 contains significant deadfall across the trail. Most years the forest service clears the trail to Hummingbird saddle, which is about the five mile point, but not this year. Water: Hummingbird spring was running, nice pool of water despite severe drought conditions. There's a sign and trail to the spring from Hummingbird Saddle.
