"Drove up the Carr Canyon road, which was trecherous to say the least in my low clearance 2WD vehicle. I made it up, but with my teeth clenched and knuckles purple on the steering wheel. Cool views from road, but far too many potholes and large protruding rocks to handle a small sedan like mine. Again, I made it, but it was stressful; the last 2 miles are the worst. It will take about 30 minutes just to drive the 5 miles to the trailhead at Ramsey Vista parking lot.
The hiking trail was gradual uphill and beautiful, however. Well maintained, with only a small amount of overgrowth due to the hiking being later in Monsoon season, when the grasses grow tall. The hike was about 2.9 up and the same distance going back down. "After summiting Miller Peak, my brother and I made our way over to Carr Peak, then back down into Miller Canyon. The smoke and haze cleared just a little, so we had slightly better views than on Miller Peak. However, the more distant views were obscured. " — ZachTeich • Aug 26, 2020

"Straightforward climb from the Ramsey Vista Campground. The trail is well-marked and well-signed. The access road from the valley is passable by any type of car if you take it slowly.
The views on top are beautiful, and one can admire the massive Miller Peak a little South of there." — Gabsolute • Apr 16, 2017
