"Hiking the Willow trail now that it has an official trailhead with a parking lot. No register box yet. Visited the summit of Carl mountain then over to Tremper mountain to have lunch and climb the tower. Carried both snowshoes and spikes but neither was used as the snow has melted down and crusted over. On my way back to the trailhead from Tremper I headed up and over the SW Peak of Carl mountain as a shortcut back to the Willow. " - Nimblefoot, Dec 5, 2018
"The state has put in a new parking area at the trailhead, which I was unaware of. So I parked on the side of the road prior to the "Private Road" signage. The snow started to show up around 1800' and by the 2800+' summits there was about 2 feet on the ground. All in all a nice, fun showshoe/bushwhack. " - Right-On, Nov 29, 2018
"Headed up the Phoenicia trail to visit Tremper mountain then continue on to visit Carl mountain and it’s lower SW peak. I was running out of time so I just hit the SW peak, also known as Hoyt Hollow peak, and left Carl for another day. A rather warm day with the temp. around 50* by the time I got back to my car at 3pm." - Nimblefoot, Mar 11, 2014
