"This MTB ride was started at 10 AM and was one of my favorites this year. I started out at a hidden trailhead at Avenue de Santiago and ascended the Weir Canyon Trail for 3 minutes and summited Springs Benchmark. It had great views and a benchmark. Then I went down the Weir Canyon Trail to the side of Canyon Rim Peak. Then I went down the trail which had great views and a hidden feature called the Butt Crack. After that a climb up and down the sides of ridges was in effect. Then I passed by the Devil’s Punchbowl and then went through a canyon with palm trees. After that I went up a steep hill and was done with the ride." — lc444 • Sep 4, 2023
"A quick hike to simply turn this peak's icon green. I'm certain this hike would be more enjoyable in the spring when everything is green; now it's brown which is typical for summertime in the OC. The route to the peak is very steep and loose dirt; once near the top, the trail disappears into the 8 foot high dead growth; I'm 6'1" and I had zero views through the dense "growth". I followed my GPS into the high weeds/sticks until I got to the summit then back down to rejoin the main trail." — marc • Jul 7, 2019
"This trail starts at the end of E Ave de Santiago. From there, the Weir Canyon Trail bisects the end of the street. Go left and quickly rise to a high point after about 0.1 mile. I went on top of this hill (in only a few steps) and was surprised to see a benchmark. The benchmark read "Springs". With nothing else to do but wonder, I continued on to Peak 1257. It was nice that the Weir Canyon Trail came to the base of its prominence. The fun part is completing the short but steep shot straight up its side. For a few moments it seems like a serious climb was going on. The summit is long and flat with good views. I didn't find a benchmark or register, but then again since it wasn't out in the open and I really didn't look hard. This concluded my day of knocking off local peaklets!" — MikeTeeples • Sep 22, 2018
