"Was looking for both an introduction to the Domeland Wilderness and a introductory trip to peakbagging for my friend Zack. Hadn't hiked with him before so this served as a chance to see what he was able to do, what he enjoyed, etc... This peak was a pleasant class 1 climb all the way up. It is cross-country at the start and you do have to find your own path. I followed J.C. Jenkins route. Eventually you should hit a trail that is ducked almost literally every ten feet. This is a great peak for beginners even if it is a bit out of the way.
As an introduction to the Domelands Wilderness area this is also a fantastic peak. You can see Owen's Peak and its smaller brothers clearly, and Taylor's Dome is quite visible. You can even see Lake Isabella if you are observant. The peak is full of the indicator species of the wilderness as well!" — Irrationalist • May 11, 2013
