"Bridge abort. Saw zero people out there on this solo attempt. Underestimated difficulty of crux and when I got there lacked confidence on the correct approach. When the chimney got vertical, looked to the left for holds, but everything kind of sloped away. So scrambled out of the crack on the right but a few moves in started to think there’d be no way to downclimb safely so retreated. Gave the chimney one final look before I concluded that I was in over my head. Really wanted to see all the cool stuff up there (the arch, tanks, hidden forest). But I made the right decision given my ignorance of the route. Alas.
Tagged North Peak on way back for some epic views. Jogged the last couple miles on the road, great to be out. " — scott • Apr 5, 2026
"Challenging route finding near the top of Bridge. I missed a couple cairns and went up via scary Class 5 slabs. Found the advertised Class 3 on the way back, which would still be solid 4 in the Canadian Rockies." — Taras • Dec 23, 2024
"NOTE: there are two "North Peaks": one is sandstone and reached by a use trail (starting 2.4 miles from willow spring); and there is a higher limestone one as a spur off the official BLM Bridge Mt trail (the trail that starts at Red rock Summit, over 5 miles from Willow Spring). The limestone "North Peak" was renamed "Crest Peak" in a 2008 guidebook, and the latter name has stuck on some modern mapping apps. So be careful which one you actually want. I met some very confused people who were using Alltrails, which directed them to the sandstone north peak, when they really wanted the limestone peak.
57x up Bridge (I don't plan to log all in to Peakery). Another eye (after strabismus surgery), knee, pack test. All good, still not used to seeing with two eyes since 2018. I happened to intersect with an ultramarathon." — hwstock • Oct 23, 2024
"This was an attempt to do what is known as the Trifecta, or Triple Crown hike to Bridge, Rainbow and Wilson in Red Rock. We had cached water the week before the hike which we thought would help us with less weight the day of the hike and that we have plenty of water to get us through the big day. It turned out to be a hot day for a hike like this. All of us where feeling slightly dehydrated, even after consuming all the water we had cached. We knew that it was going to be a tough hike, but for some reason we underestimated it. Doing the three BIG peaks, which two of the members pulled off, was about 8000 feet of elevation gain and nearly 22 miles. The temperature wasn't conducive for such an undertaking for four of us....me included. We made the decision at the turn to go down to Wilson, from the limestone ridge, to return to our shuttle vehicle we had set up the day before and skip Wilson. It was the right decision for us since we felt dehydrated and we wanted to be finished before dark. Congratulations and applause to the two members (Carlton and Cameron) that completed this awesome undertaking. " — Heartattackbruce • Sep 21, 2024
"Nighttime hike up Pine Creek (Fern Canyon). I was hoping to snag the Bridge 360° route but it proved to be far too spicy for a nighttime onsight. I continued to the top of Fern Canyon and found a well cairned path up to the top. Mostly class 3/4, but plenty of opportunities for class 5 traverses on solid rock. " — MikeERodriguez • Jul 27, 2024
"5.7.24. Bridge Mtn #28 from Lovell Cyn~ Nearly 13 miles, 4,000’ gain in 5:20hr. Up top in 2:53hrs. From base of crack to summit in :20 min. I stepped aside to let some motorcyclists by on Rocky Gap road and landed next to a snake. I was so close to it my foot hopped within its body curls. I don’t think it was a rattler thank goodness since I had to hop around a few times near it to get my body to flee. I didn’t take a photo since I was freaked out. I was attacked by hornets the whole fucking time! I don’t remember experiencing so many in one outing!?! I eventually stopped running and freaking out about them because it was wearing me out. They seemed to hang out around my head less when I did that. Lots of small bugs too, trying to get in my ears so I kept my ears covered. Other than all that drama, it was spectacular as usual. With an 11am start. temps were warm with nary a breeze. I consumed (3) 16oz bottles of water, an applesauce packet and a banana. " — paula.raimondi • May 7, 2024
"TR and Condition report on Rocky Gap Road out of Willow Springs. My 56x up Bridge. I normally avoid this road unless required by expediency. I used to drive up here in a 2003 Subaru with 7 inches clearance, aided by the narrowness of that vehicle. Since then, one section has gotten better and two have gotten worse. The section bigRocksInRoad (right after 1st wash) and BadRedHill are worse. The OldBadSpot, where a stream sometimes crosses, is better. We saw several Pink Jeeps turn around at Park4NorthPeak at 2.4 miles up – they used to turn around below that.

"Finally did bridge and it was awesome
Solid friction scrambling and a nice spooky ledge after going over the bridge at the end
If you want yoga the easy way you can follow my track, but it seems like the fun way is up through pine creek canyon as evidenced by the comments in the register

"My 55th time up Bridge. This is a safe peak for me, when I am recovering from medical issues. I was about 5% slower than before COVID devastated me and scarred my lungs, but I wasn't trying to rush and looked for "experimental" route changes (see pictures).
I drove up to the turn-around at 5800 feet; one spot about 200 feet from the parking (in a depression/stream crossing) is a lot worse than a year back. 4x4 HC recommended." — hwstock • May 1, 2023
"4.27.23~Bridge Mtn #27. 6 miles, 3,000’ gain in 4:05hrs. Up in 2:15hrs, :18m on top, down in 1:32hrs. Laszlo generously offered me a ride to MM 2.25 on Rocky gap from Willow springs when I told him I planned on a Thursday Summit. We hiked the start together and he went on to nearby Sandstone north peak while I did a hard effort Bridge. He was able to snap a photo of me on the summit (from his summit) when I texted him at the top. Super warm with nary a breeze. " — paula.raimondi • Apr 27, 2023
