"Just did the tiny summit trail. NOTE: GIS marker is behind a fence that blocks off access to the firetower. Museum/park staff are happy to open it so you can take a picture though!" — ThisGrrrlFriday • Nov 1, 2022
"Visited Clingmans Dome earlier in the day then drove to Brasstown Bald, parked in the lot and walked up the summit trail. Really nice day, great views from the observation tower." — jodola • Oct 4, 2022
"This was a quick stop, on our way through. Walked the path to the top just as the sun set, hiked back down in the dark. It was a Saturday night, and it was beautifully it gets cold! Couldn’t find the marker though. " — CravinoCrew • Dec 19, 2020
"I drove the 5 hours from Cheaha Mt. in 'Bama to this Georgia HP the same day. I wanted to get this one in because I planned on hiking Springer Mt. the next day. The weather cleared nicely so I had great views from the observation tower on top, even though the visitor center was closed for the day. Basically had the mountain to myself, with just an occasional person coming to join me. 3rd HP so far this trip. Next stop - Amicalola Falls S.P., arriving just as it was getting dark." — SteveM_StickMan • Jun 23, 2020
"Hooray for Labor Day weekend! We flew into Atlanta from Vegas with the intention of bagging 9 new state highpoints and a couple National Park highpoints in 4 days. We accomplished that and then some!" — Kevin • Sep 5, 2016
"Went to Brasstown Bald to talk with one of the park personnel about some projects we are going to fund through the Highpointers Foundation. We had several benches placed last year and are offering to replace the viewing maps on the observation deck as they are in need of repair as well as refinishing the summit sign at the upper end of the trailhead. They already have a grant to repair the fire tower on the upper deck and it should be completed in 2017 so guided tours can climb the stairs and see what it would like as a working 1960 fire tower lookout." — StoneMan • Apr 14, 2016
"Third of a 3 state high point day. Rain rain rain due hurricane Joaquin offshore. This one was in 7C blowing rain at about 3pm. I just made it there in time as they were about to close the mountain - I told the lady at the gate that "I had driven a long way i.e. 7000km" and I said could I just go up on the shuttle bus and right back down...she said sure! I was at the summit for 1 min, ran to the top, snapped shot and back on the shuttle down as they closed it ;}" — alexjoseph • Oct 2, 2015
"#4 on "the southern six pack"
After a nice drive I arrived at Brasstown Bald. Was surprised with the $5 entry fee but, they do a great job with the visitor center. Took the short trail to the top. Zero-visibility was a minor let down. Watched the 20min video that was playing and left. Next up SC!" — hollis83 • Jul 5, 2013
"There were only two other cars in parking lot when we arrived around 4:30 pm. Hiked up the access road, because the trail was marked as closed. Surprisingly, absolutely nobody at top. It was foggy and extremely quiet. Although the museum at the top was closed, somebody had forgotten to lock it, so I made a stealth tour and managed to sign the register. The "closed" hiking path looked fairly navigable, so decided to descend via the trail despite the warning signs. The trail was paved the entire way with no reason for it really to be closed as far as I could tell. There was a little gravel in places deposited by recent rains, but otherwise clear.

"Summited Brasstown Bad sometime between 2004 and 2008 when I was going to college. The exact date is unknown. My best guess is October 2006. I was able to capture some pretty unique lighting that day." — LukeyPukey • Oct 21, 2006
