" Nugara easy scramble. Went up Bow Peak early morning to beat the storms. An extremely pleasant outing with fantastic views, I think this should be on everyone's to-do list. A great non-steep trail (with a less than knee deep crossing) to the base of the peak. Choose your own adventure up on mostly solid quartzite blocks, a nice summit ridge traverse from there, and a fantastic summit view with glaciers and lakes all around. A pleasant alternate descent back to the main trail easily. Just no BS on this wonderful outing with minimal challenges. I meant to do this in winter but glad I didn't. 14km return 1000m gain 6hr20min. Loved it, can definitely recommend! Very high value for your dollar. " — jakefinnan • Jul 6, 2023
"Skinned to about 200 meters from the summit, where exposed rocks made us save our skins and bootpack to the summit, the snow was horribly faceted and unsupportive. This part took forever. Great views from the summit ridge, Stopped just short of the summit due to a massive cornice, but we could see over it, so I think this counts." — ken_hercules • Jan 20, 2023
"When we arrived at Bow Lake, it was raining steadily. We decided to hike the Bow Hut Route out to Bow Glacier trail. At that point due to weather we didn't proceed up Crawfoot Mt. Headed back and called it a day." — Alohabuffy • Jul 8, 2022
"15km with 1,087m gain in 6:50hrs. Had some org issues and left city quite late (almost at 7pm) but had a great day nevertheless. No wind at the summit at all; even didn't have to put another layer.
Bow's backside was ok for skiing but got a scratch or two.
Ice axe and crampons were really handy on summit ridge." — alexp • Feb 24, 2019
"A gorgeous day, perfect weather and conditions. After the creek crossing we continued up the trail through muddy conditions (for a while) eventually coming up to Crowfoot Pass. From there we went up the talus to the ridge. The snow on the ridge was insignificant and we easily scrambled along the ridge to the summit and took in the beautiful scenery." — BertB • Sep 12, 2015
"As with so many others I finally got around to summiting this beautiful little peak and the views from the true summit did not disappoint. Between looking straight up Mosquito Creek to seeing the entire the length of Hector Lake and the massive glaciers of Balfour, this peak offers something for everyone from the alpinist to the backpacker. Turned out to be a gorgeous day, with tons of sunshine, comfortable temperatures and a nice light wind at the summit. Left the summit around 3:30 just as a nasty bit of stormy weather began circling the area. A light blizzard moved quickly into the valley and I got slammed by snow for all of 10 minutes and then just as quickly as it came it disappeared to be replaced by sunshine. Only disappointment was all the smoke off to the southeast and storms northwest of Chephren blocking out views of those beautiful mountain ranges. Highlights includied meeting a group of three hikers who I thought were also going to the summit but I guess they changed their minds at the north ridge so it ended up being a solo summit. Also saw a mother bear and her two beautiful cubs who were heading southeast from the pass to Hector Lake. Stupidly I alerted them..." — Mountainman • Sep 15, 2012
