"Ventured out onto Bommer Canyon Trail and Bommer Ridge Trail. Made 3 summits before returning. Could have easily added 2 more close to the main trail, but both are supposed to be off limits due to plant rehabilitation. Unfortunately, I don’t get a gold star for not committing a trail faux pas." — MikeTeeples • Feb 28, 2026
"I started at the Laguna Bowl trail at 5 AM with the VHC and climbed up before the sunrise. The sunrise was coming up as we ent up and it was very nice, and I saw the beach from this trail. Then I turn right at a ridge down an extra credit trail to the powerlines and saw the sunrise views. Then I turned right onto the Laguna Ridge Trail and saw nice views from the summit of Laguna Ridge, and a benchmark. Then I went down the trail and went past some small rocky sections. Then I turn left onto this trail and then went along CA-133 and then turned left onto the Big Bend Trail. The trail was basically one giant human powered elevator and I climbed up a small peak at the end of the big bend trail, which had nice views. Then I turned right and then summited Bommer ridge, which had okay views and a benchmark. Then I turn left onto the Repo Man (Slides) trail, which has steep and had multiple scrambles and sandy sections. There were ok views from that trail and then I went back the way I came when the "Slides" section of the trail was done. Then I went back up the trail and then went down the trail, which has views. Then I went back to my car and ended the day. " — lc444 • Oct 27, 2024
"This happened 3 weeks ago, sorry for the late log. I started at 6 AM and after a long section of the Bommer Ridge Trail I reached the Moro Ridge Trail. After turning right onto Missing Link trail I reached the summit of Moro Ridge. It had nice views of the sunrise. After a long while on the Bommer Ridge Trail, I reached the Bommer Ridge Highpoint. That one also had nice views. After that I went down the big bend trail and climbed the first peak on that trail." — lc444 • Nov 23, 2023
"Nice hike, same route as last summit but tacked on Emerald Canyon, the Slides, and Big Bend using the Laguna Ridge Trail. Everything in the same order as last time, but a little dirt on the benchmarks and it was raining. I also played on my broomstick w/ some pals until the ranger yelled at us because we were "pestering the wildlife"

"It was a nice hike to mountain bike to these peaks. It was steep and rolling. The trail up to Bommer Ridge was brushy. I also hiked the loop in Crystal Cove. This trail was steep, especially the power line use trail. This is my video on the hike: https://youtu.be/GQNyk-LhJNM" — lc444 • May 3, 2022
"Started off at the Pacific Ridge Trailhead in Newport Beach, where I accessed the Bommer Ridge Trail. Within the first mile, the trail passes two Peakery peaks: Peak 1063 (which is off limits) and Peak 1034 (which is doable, but just without the help of a trail). I made Moro Ridge the first peak of the day. From there, I continued along Bommer Ridge to a high point named as "Bommer Ridge". The road continues from there as it bends in the direction of the ocean. I visited Peak 912 and then pressed forward all the way to Peak 680, which became the turnaround point. It was a long hike back to the trailhead from there, especially on a day in the 90 degree range!" — MikeTeeples • Sep 11, 2021
