"Tom and I departed Marcy Field trailhead at 7:35 @ 68 degrees under calm blue skies and high humidity. The trail up was dry for the most part. After crossing the brook the second time we lost the trail momentarily but the Peakery app put us back on trail. From there the trail turns steep to the summit. Several nice but hazy views were enjoyed before summiting at 8:44. The temps and humidity were both rising by then. Great views were abundant! Returned to car at 10.25." — garyogden • Aug 6, 2022

"Part of a traverse with Nancy over Porter to Cascade. A steep climb that never leveled out for long. Wooded climb up wet streams and rooted paths. Not well traveled. Open views of Great Range and others. Pretty green colors speckled the valleys. Windy at times, but not cold. Bugs were kept at bay!" — lfrancois • May 26, 2022

"Solo yet again atop Blueberry-Porter Mountain this morning. The sky was hazy creating some crazy colors with the sun. Still some slight foliage in spots that is hanging on. Struggled with some thoughts at the summit today as I looked down on the angered and triggered world below. Most don’t read these captions, so I’ll keep those thoughts to myself. Anyway it was a nice morning with some pretty views of Hurricane Mountain, Hopkins Mountain, Giant Mountain, and then off to the Great Range looking from East to West. " — scottturner • Oct 18, 2020
"Did a traverse with Kathryn and Tom of Cascade, Porter and Blueberry mountain from RT 73 to the Keene Valley airport. Beautiful weather and great views on our way down from Porter over Blueberry even seeing our air BnB barn on airport road in Keene Valley. Ridge trail certainly doesn’t see a lot of use at Porter end so it’s a bit narrow in spots kind of like a herd path. Kathryn is up to #27 on her 46r quest and Tom got his first repeat peaks.

"Cold start to the day as the temp was 3 degrees when I hit the trail. The trail was hard to find in a couple of spots as markers were few & far between. The
upper sections were a bit icy & the micro spikes came in handy. Views from the top were amazing with Hurricane, Giant, Dix, etc. all there for the taking." — billsussdorff • Jan 18, 2020

"Ugh. I'll be honest, not my favourite hike ever... But that's not a reflection on this mountain in any way.. just this particular hike in the dead of winter. The weather forecast said "a mix of sun and clouds", but that changed when we got there. Just clouds. No views. An unintentional somersault, and a few unintentional "butt-slides"...
But hey. I would take this hike over staying at home being bored. " — RangersApprentice • Dec 30, 2017

"Our last Winter hike of the Year, and First of this Winter season. Lot's of snow towards the top, very icy for the first section. Views were none existant dues to low cloud. But, still a great day in the Mountains." — HikingViking • Dec 30, 2017

"My husband and I opted for this hike instead of Big Slide; we were still recovering from Porter Mt two days before. It turned out to be a good choice. We left earlier and left behind a substantial amount of extraneous stuff we had been carrying "just in case". We took along only the bare essentials and our feet thanked us for it! The trail began at Marcy Field and was steep pretty much the whole way up. The trail varied from wet forest with mosquitoes to drier middle section with peat moss-like dirt that gave way sometimes to granite "walkways" cleared as if to make a nice sidewalk for us (albeit a steep one). There are several nice vistas along the way and spectacular views. We met a few small parties on the trail: one couple and another with a dog. Macey came along with us again and she did just fine too.
Just before the summit, the trail gets into a really pretty alpine forest. The smell of evergreen and spruce is sometimes really strong and reminiscent of daydreams you might have of the Alps. The scenery is beautiful too. The trees looked so green and healthy and the moss undercover was just like a neat green carpet of dense pile. Many beautiful paper birch trees set off t..." — SummitSusie • May 18, 2013
