"10.6.25~Blue Diamond Hill HP & getting lost’ish. 11.4 miles, 2,000’ gain in 3:44hrs w/Jimmy. Jimmy takes a nap most days after work since he gets up at 4am but he wanted to join me anyway. I discouraged it…We went up the way we usually do to the summit via Muffins trail but I am bored of the same way down so we headed across/west on the Mesa on bike trails. I forgot how big this Mesa is and turned down a faint trail on one of the ridges to start heading down/back to the car. Well, it led us to nothing but high above the cliffs where 2 canyons converge. The trail just disappeared. Down below we could see the Horse touring structure in the mouth of one of those canyons. There was probably a sketchy down climb possible but the sun was setting, we had 3oz of water left, no food or sugar and Jimmy was super tired. We thought the smartest thing to do was backtrack and link up with a track I had that headed down the next ridge to the west on bike trails. On the bright side, we did get to see the full Harvest Supermoon rise. Neither of us were looking for more than 8 ish miles so it was rough. Glad I packed flash lights. Complete a$$ whoopin’ !!" — paula.raimondi • Oct 6, 2025
"8.1.25~7.5 miles, 1,500’ gain in 2:46hrs. Sunset Scamper with Jimmy & Jr. up to Muffins, Hi Squirrel and BD HP. Down Bob Gnarly. Windy on top which made standing upright for a millisecond on Hi Squirrel terrifying. 96 degree 5:40pm start. Finished around dusk. Jrs 1st time up to Muffins & BD HP. "11.28.22~7.5 miles, 1,600’ gain in 2:39h w/Frances. Blue Diamond Hill HP & Hi Squirrel (taking turns since its summit is tiny)🐿️. Up the Muffins, Down Bob Gnarly. Frances had never done the BD HP so she invited me to join. We hiked up and jogged down. Chilly 46 deg start. " — paula.raimondi • Nov 28, 2022
"3.17.2020....Hi Squirrel and Blue Diamond Hill Peaks w/Karla, 10 miles, 2,000’ gain, 3hrs. Hard to even remember it’s St Paddy’s Day with all that’s going on. Was nice forget about it all for a few hours with our Buddy run “social distancing” style. Our buddy tree and pose of the dancer were not connected by touch but we were connect in spirit. Stay safe everyone. Stay home or in the middle of nowhere, which happens to be 2 of my favorite places to be. P.S...stop hoarding! I need Toilet paper and tomato paste and can’t find any!

"4.21.19 Blue Diamond Hill HP Easter Date w/Jimmy. 8 mile, 1,600’ gain jog. We did Maia Gazebo collage photos🤗🌻🥰🦄🦄 and festive couples yoga celebrating 19 years married and 22 years together. I think we are still cute after all these year. Maybe?...(Jimmy wouldn’t let me climb hi squirrel today) " — paula.raimondi • Apr 21, 2019
"1.22.19....Mines & Muffins/Peak 4473’ & Blue Diamond Highpoint. Karla and I ran a 17 mile, nearly 3,000’ gain loop tour of the Blue Diamond Mesa in relentless, cold high winds for 4:48hrs. We ran the entire Goat Roper Ridge Bagging Peak 4473’, then went off trail (severe big-a$$ trespass) to the teeny, mini golf course park and BD HP. I was majorly lost off trail and then had us going through the Human Monster Mine but we got through the ugly and back to the pretty for a downhill finish of the Muffins." — paula.raimondi • Jan 22, 2019
"Got off to an early morning start. I took the trail going right from the entrance gate (there were many trails that intersected all day and I didn't know their names, I just kept going toward the highest point). The meandering trail eventually elevated to the top of the long ridge at the summit. I hung around for a while and gazed toward the views of Las Vegas before continuing the loop to include Pulsatile Tinnitus Peak. The final leg of the loop passed through a nice canyon along what I believe was the Bob Gnarly Trail. Took a lot of pictures on the way back down." — MikeTeeples • Apr 18, 2018
"June and I went for a hike/run workout. took Muffins trail to the Muffins then to the Summit. We ran all the bike trails on the top of the Mesa above all the canyons then down in a giant loop. Nearly 12 Miles" — paula.raimondi • Mar 15, 2015
"My Husband and I got a sitter and went up the muffins trail then on to the summit. We ran giant canyon down suicide speed. Pretty day. We saw some sage grouse near the summit " — paula.raimondi • Feb 16, 2015
"Shin and I hiked up Rocky Canyon to the highpoint and went down Muffin Ridge then Grubbed on NY Pizza after. We saw the sunset and full moon rise. Half the hike was dark by the lite of the moon. Very pretty views of the city" — paula.raimondi • Oct 7, 2014
