"Loop through Antighost Ridge(1987m), Black Rock Nubs (2240m). Easy to moderate scramble. I parked my car on the top of the big hill, made it to Anti-Ghost ridge first, then two ‘Nubs’ ( described in Dadfern’s hiking book). That was pretty much my goal for the day but seeing possible route to awesome looking Black Rock from this side, I decided to continue. Descended from 2nd Nub towards col with Black Rock, stayed on the ridge , where about 15m of moderate scramble was necessary. After that was easier. After reaching the top of the ridge took left and hiked easy , bit snowy N slopes toward the summit. Descended popular trail on south side. My 2nd time on this one." — PawelG • Oct 7, 2023

"Stunning. Fire from last year has made it just incredible. Don't follow my GPX, the bush is so burned out that you can cut some corners on the trail if youre willing to walk on the steep sandy terrain." — justinj • Jul 25, 2021

"Epic spring day. Broke trail in fresh snow all the way from car to summit. The burnt forest made for a very interesting approach. Great warm weather. Epic views of Devil's Head. 3 hour ascent time, 2 hour descent time. Accidentally left gps track on while driving" — yuri • Apr 26, 2021

"Family hike with 2.5 years old one and grandma. Was able to drive 2.5km from bridges along the river, all the way to a ford; crossed on foot and walked the rest 500m to the trailhead." — alexp • Jul 22, 2017

"Recent flooding brought lots of devastation to the area. Last 3 km of the TransAlta Road is gone. Trailhead is washed away too. Crux of the trip was crossing raging Ghost River with water up to my waist, which was pretty intense. " — Taras • Jun 30, 2013

"Fantastic day to summit this gorgeous little peak in the Ghost River Region. With rain the previous night, lighting was optimal. The most challenging part of this hike by far was getting up Ghost River Road to the trailhead. The horror stories I'd read (and heard) about this road were more than true as we bounced our way across potholes and washouts that would swallow a small car. In spite of being in a heavy duty pickup truck, some of the bumps were so nasty that it was like being in the cabin of an airplane with turbulence bouncing us out of our seats and towards the roof of the vehicle on more than a few occasions. Due to the river running high we decided to park just below the sign at 15.4 km and walk the rest of the way to Black Rock Mountain trailhead. After that it was a nice gentle rolling ascent through forest till we broke out above treeline with fantastic views all round." — Mountainman • Jun 8, 2013
