We parked in Martindale (NY429190) and walked up the path to High Dodd (506m)(12:08). We then went on to Place Fell and had lunch (1:00) We carried on to The Knight (1:55) Saw a large party from Formby (see photograph under The Knight entry) of men who were doing Wainwrights for the second time. We then went on to Birk Fell (2:21) and then went on to Low Birk Fell (2:55) where we had a cup of coffee. There were good views over Ulswater. By 4:25 we had returned to the car.
