"We started out at 8 AM at a parking lot near the Merry-Go-Round. Then we went up of small use trail to Beacon Hill. The trail was very steep and rocky. The view from Beacon Hill is just okay. We saw a coyote on the summit. Then we went to Joe Klass Water stop. We saw a water tank and some great views of Los Angeles. Then we went around Glendale Peak on the Hogback Trail and then summited Glendale Peak via the Henry's Trail, the summit had great views and a benchmark. Then we went down the Riverside trail for a challenge and then climbed up a steep hill and a use trail that was loose and then went to the top of Hogback Peak (Bird Bath Peak), and it has great views fro it. Then went over to Mt Hollywood and then summited it. The summit was popular and had a summit plaque, and info signs and a benchmark. Then descended the summit to summit Taco Peak, Mt Baby Bell, and Mt Bell. Taco Peak had a concrete thing on top, Mt Bell has great views and benchmark, Mt Baby Bell was disappointing, and then we climbed up to Mt Chapel. The summit of Mt Chapel had great views and a benchmark. Then we climbed over to Mt Lee and then saw the Hollywood sign. Then we climbed down to summit Burbank and Ca..." — lc444 • Dec 19, 2022
"Having been to Mt Lee, Cahuenga and Burgank last year, we decided to make a big loop(ish) through the rest of Griffith Park to knock out the remaining 9 peaks of the 12 Peaklet Challenge. Ended up being a lot warmer than forecast, and with little shade, it was a sweaty day! A few of the segments off the main path to the peak are easily Class 2 scrambles, especially down from Bee Rock. We parked at the Carasel parking lot area, and started toward Beacon Hill for the peak #1 (going clockwise around the park. Then down the road to Glendale Peak. Then down Hogback Ridge Trail, to the "bump" that is Bird Bath Beak, and finally over to Mt Hollywood for some great views of Los Angeles, the Hollywood Bowl and the Hollywood sign. Off towards the Hollywood Sign area, first hitting Taco Peak, then a scramble up to Mt Bell, then little Baby Bell, and finally an "interesting" scramble up to Mt Chapel. Then down along the paved road on the north side of the park until Bee Rock. From there, another "interesting" scramble down 500' to the road that leads into the old zoo area and back to the parking lot. " — marc • Apr 7, 2019
