"Met 4 big trucks driving down the Taconic Crest Trail! They had obviously just come from the summit. Totally illegal, of course. They may have gained access from a jeep trail or an old ski trail. Later we met more trucks and an ATV going up. Three discouraged hikers turned around because of trail conditions. We summited, but didn't stay long. We didn't know enough to report this to NYDEC at the time, but now they are encouraging hikers to report ATV's etc." — barbaratraver • Apr 7, 1991
"Berlin Mt. is the high point of Rensselaer County, New York State, near where I live, so I wanted to climb it. Started in Massachusetts, crossed the border to the summit, then descended by way of the old Williams College Ski Slope. Steepness and slipperiness of the slope necessitated coming down on my backside." — barbaratraver • Aug 31, 1987
