I was in a group of 7 friends new to the Cairngorms, we were attempting to climb Ben Macdui (1309m) but turned back after a 10 miles of hiking at 1113m height due to worsening conditions and lack of visibility, but not before conquering Sron Riach, itself higher than any English peak.
