"With Robin Howie. From Tydrum Lower Railway Station via Cononish to Coire Gaothach. We climbed the Upper Snowfield, Ben Lui (Winter Grade I climb), exiting near the NW top of Ben Lui, which we went to. On the main top. Very good crampon conditions. One of Robin’s crampons came off and could not be fixed. I cut a number of steps to complete the ascent. The descent was via the eastern slopes. It was misty once out of the glen bottom, hence difficult to know where we were exactly." — peter43 • Mar 24, 1985

"Cairngorm Club overnight meet. From a bivvy on the south side of Ben Oss ascended the SE ridge of Ben Lui to reach the main summit and then the NW top. We descended the SW ridge and then up Beinn a' Chleibh. We descended NW and then W through new plantations to join a forest track next to Eas a' Ghaill. Along the track past Succoth Lodge to the road and bus at Inverlochy. In mist most of the time. Drizzle and ground was very wet. As we reached the bus on the descent the mist rolled away and the day became bright and sunny! " — peter43 • Jun 26, 1983
