"Calm and snowy day. Well trodden path with some blow downs here and there. Summit was cloud but calm. The Tower was covered in snow and ice and I didnt dare to go up past 2 flights. Great day! " — bobbaker • Jan 30, 2024
"Expects bugs and mud on this trail. The right trail is to the left, I did go straight ahead, which lead me to some kind of shelter with a washroom.
The trailhead parking is not indicated on the Vermont highway and Google will sent you to a private property with a dirt road supposedly leading to Belvidere Mountain but in fact, this road is not suitable for cars. Do not go to the Old Mine Road recommended by Google Map, it is a one lane dirt road. Set your Google GPS to Eden's Crossing Long Trail parking Lot or ask the Alltrails phone application for the trailhead, even the free version can get you to the trailhead..
Splendid views from the top of the fire tower. It is strange that so few hikers are on this trail.
Some mountains offering dismal views are climbed only because they are on a list, Belvidere should be hiked even if you are not interested by the current challenge, the 360 degree view from the tower is too nice to miss." — pierredenommee • Jun 22, 2019
"Plenty of snow for November. Snowshoed to the tower & had to fight through the rime ice to get to the top of the platform.
Summit totally in the clouds so no views that particular day." — billsussdorff • Nov 28, 2016
"We hiked The Long Trail up to the summit and Fire Tower. We encountered a lot of snow and ice as we came closer to the summit. I would say that about the last 1.5 miles up and down was snow and ice ridden. The parking area was warm and free of snow and ice. " — chrisroberts • Apr 30, 2016
