"With three friends, after staying at Crianlarich Youth Hostel. We left the main road near Derrydaroch and walked up the glen of Allt a’ Chuilinn. Ascended Beinn Chabhair more or less straight up to the summit. Three of us continued to Beinn a’ Chroin while one descended from the col. Went on to Beinn a’ Chroin West Top*. We reached the East Top (Munro summit). My two friends descended via Coire Earb whilst I returned over the west Top and descended via Coire a’ Chuilinn to reach the car. It was very hot and sunny.
* Note added 2020: In 2012 the summit of the Munro was relocated to NN38751856 from the East Top referred to above. Beinn a’ Chroin West Top at NN38591854 remains a Munro Top. We are likely in 1985 to have gone over, or at least very close, to both the West Top and the Munro summit as currently defined.

"With my son, Jonathan Bellarby. Left the car at NN356224 in Glen Falloch. Walked along the road and then past Derrdaroch, ascended to the east of Allt a Chuilinn before crossing this burn and ascending to the col NW of Beinn Chabhair. To summit of Beinn Chabhair. Descended via Lochan Beinn Chabair and to the road at Beinnglas. We walked along the road, but were given a lift for the last mile. It was clear at first, but misty high up. There was a high wind and much soft snow with hard snow and ice high up and also low down. There is a false summit with a cairn before the true top." — peter43 • Jan 27, 1985
