"First time into this area. We saw that there was a peak that we could bag, Bee Canyon Peak, and a descent canyon, Bee Canon, that had 5 rappels in it. So, we set out to to summit the peak first. We opted to follow a similar route to what Bluugnome had suggested for the Bee Canyon rappels. When we reached the saddle that would be the drop-in point for the canyon run only, we went SW along the side of the north ridge of the canyon until we came to the back of the huge bowl formed by the south and north ridges that create the canyon. From the top of the bowl you can see Bee Canyon Peak a very short distance to the SW. From Bee Canyon Peak we retraced our route back to the top of the bowl of Bee Canyon and descended the entire canyon, enjoying the 5 rappels that are in the last 1/3 mile of the canyon. We had to build 4 of the 5 anchors because they had been swept away by the swift canyon waters caused by Hurricane Hilary. I am attaching a track that can be used as a guide for direction. We wandered a bit on the desert near the rock wall to look into holes that could have been potential caves. No luck. " — Heartattackbruce • Dec 23, 2023
"Anji is in town & hadn't done this one yet, so I agreed to do it again. It was a little warm on the way up, but an overall pleasant day. No sign ins since I was last here in 2016." — Kevin • Nov 13, 2020
"I got a Friday off and we had a break in the bad weather, so we decided to try a new peak, with a technical canyon descent. We took the southern of the twin east ridges to reach the summit. There was a bit of fun scrambling, never getting harder than class 3. For the descent, we headed down Bee Canyon, the gully between the ridges. It was scenic, but nothing special until we got down near the bottom of the canyon. There were 4-5 short, but fun rappels before the long slog across the desert back to the car.
