Hiked the peak via HPS Route #2. The only hitch was finding the right point to leave the forest road to access the firebreak (which is clearly visible). I got off at about 0.6 miles from the parking area. Once on the firebreak, it is a clear shot to the peak (minus a false summit). On the way back, I stayed on the firebreak until it intersected the dirt road at about 0.75 miles from the parking area. Not much unburned foliage out there. “Bare” Mountain is well named.
